Green or Farmer’s Markets

Using locally grown produce and farm-raised meats are coming back in vogue at more and more restaurants.  At least once a week, many purveyors of freshly cultivated fruits and vegetables or quality meats and seafood gather in major cities throughout America to sell to the public at Greenmarkets or Farmer’s Markets. Many of these city pop-up markets also incorporate vendors specializing in baked goods, jams and jellies, cheeses, honey, wine or even flowers. New York City’s premier Greenmarket is located in Union Square and is open on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Check around your area for these straight off the farm markets. You will enjoy the quality and freshness.
