Removing a Broken Drill Bit

January 1, 2011

It has happened to me more than once, and I’m sure maybe you also when using a drill; the drill bit breaks due to too much pressure, hit a knot or misjudgment in the depth of the object being drilled. If the break is clean and will not affect the outcome, most just drill again close to the original hole; but what do you do if this is not possible? Take a set of pliers and using a firm grip, slowly turn the bit counterclockwise until removed.
